LECTURES
Week 5
On week five, Mr. Martin taught us to use camera and filming, by this Mr. Martin divided us into groups and gave us time to discussing about our role for shooting practice because we need to redo some scenes from movie 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' on the following week. Here are the group member:
- Producer/director: Mehran Ahmad
- Actress 1: Chan Xiang Lam
- Actress 2: Tan Sin Mi
- Actress 3: Gunn Joey
- Yan Zhi Xuan: Assistant Director - DOP
- Lim Yu Xuen: Camera Assistant - Lighting Assistant
- Abdullah Yazdan Zahid: Boom Operator - Lighting Assistant
- Aisya Diva Anwagodsa: Location Sound
- Tyra Franchesca Valeria Anthony: Art Director
Week 6
On week six, we began the shooting practice. My role was location sound, during the shooting process my responsibility was to make sure that I recorded the sound including ambience and dialogue in the scenes. I work together with boom operator, a.k.a Yazdan. He helped me to hold the microphone and directing the microphone so the sound is clear. In the middle of the process me and Yazdan switched role, so I know how boom operator's role. So far, being a boom operator was not easy at all, because you have to hold the microphone during the shooting process, I can say my arms and hips are aching because I had to stay still and make sure that the microphone is in the right position. By this process, I am so happy with my group. Because we have done such a great job, everyone knows how to make the process efficient. If any of my groupmate read this, you guys are cool! Also Mr. Martin he patiently taught me how to use the recorder, it was my first time using that device. Here are some documentation of our shooting practice.

Week 7
By this week, we entered a new chapter. Where we learn about color. Mr. Martin told us to compile all of our footage from previous shooting practice.
- Hue: Refers to color itself. Hue can be altered by saturation and brightness.
- HSB stands for Hue, Saturation, and Brightness.
- Hue do not always have to be vivid, primary colors.
- Color Saturation: Intensity of color. Determined by the amount of grey in the hue, from pure grey, to a vivid color.
- Makes color 'pop' or 'muddy'.
- Color Brightness: Refers to the level of light in color.

Independent Learning Week <3
Week 9
In week 9, we learn about audio editing. Mr. Martin gave us a power point with explanation about function and how to edit sounds step by step.
- Frequency Range: Human hearing 20Hz to 20.000Hz.
- Dynamic Range: Decibels (dB), the threshold of human hearing is measured as 0dB SPL (Sound Pressure Level) and the threshold of pain 130dB SPL.
- Space: Mono vs Stereo, mono sounds are recorded using single audio channel, while stereo sounds are recorded using two audio channels.
Week 10
INSTRUCTION
Trailer Editing
Student should make a trailer based on 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' shooting practice on week six. In this task, students were told to use their creativity and do three color correction (teal-orange, green, blue, black & white) in the clips.
Process
First thing first, I started to renaming the clips and the audio so I will not be confused. After renaming all of the files, I started to enter the footage into Adobe Premiere Pro and merge the audio and the clip (sync audio and video). As I still adapting to Premiere Pro, I did not play too much with the clips or effect (I obviously need to watch MORE tutorials). Mr. Martin asked us to be playful with the clips, so I watched the original trailer of the movie as a reference. The video that I edited has different ambience with the original trailer, mine is more into drama. To be honest, the hardest part of making the trailer was creating different style of the trailer.

Picture 1: Sync audio & video process. I watched video recommended by Mr. Martin and it made my syncing process easier. After merging all of the files, I started to arrange the clip. Another thing that made my work easier is looking for a soundtrack first so I can use the beat in the music as a template for my editing.
Picture 2: Color correction.
Picture 3: Adding text, material, and effects. I did not use a lot of effects, most of them are transition and audio effect.
Picture 4: Finalization, during this process I double check all the clips and fixing some parts that looks weird or not as I desire.

Process
Shooting process:
- First I prepared all of the tools I needed, a tripod, a phone for recording, and my computer to play the music, so I could sync with the song. I also use some properties like books and an additional phone. In this video I used Backstreet Boy's song, the title is 'I Want It That Way'. The song was popular in the '90s, even now younger generation still listens to that song.
- After prepared all of the tools, I started setting up my bedroom, by removing unnecessary things from my desk.
- After the set was ready, I started recording the video.
- I took videos from different angles and planning the transition to achieve the result that I wanted.

(30/6/2024)
Editing Process:
- After all of the footage was done, I started to insert all of the selected videos into CapCut, and remove unused scenes.
- Then I insert the sounds (including sound effects) and sync them with the video
- I added an element to create a notification effect (refer to pic 8).
- I also used a keyframe to create a zoom effect (refer to image 4).
- After that, I used an overlay to add another video to my footage (to create the 'thought' appearance).
- I added text to deliver the point of my video.
- Lastly, I adjusted the tone, brightness, and everything in the video.

REFLECTION
Experience
I enjoyed this project, particularly because I was pleased with the results of both of my tasks. Project 2B was especially rewarding because Mr. Martin gave us the freedom to choose the trends we wanted to explore. This allowed me to express myself and do what I enjoy.
Observation
This task changed my perspective on using software like Adobe Premiere Pro for editing. I used to edit videos on my phone and thought using a laptop for editing would be complicated. However, as I learned the basics, I began to enjoy using such software.
Findings
I found that color grading is extremely important. Besides shooting techniques, color plays a crucial role in expressing the emotions of a movie.
