Week 1

The student was told by the lecturer to start making the theme identification matrix to show in week 2.

Week 2

• Write an overview of FOP labels for 5.1
• Choose categorized food packaging for the research.
• The size for the picture’s caption is 10pt.

Week 3

• Include data from the previous research.
• Attached picture if needed.

Week 4

• Fix the flow of explanation by adding an introduction/citation for the point that I want to discuss.

• Use the direct picture to explain 5.3.

Week 5

• Correct the spelling

• Remove unrelated topics from the discussion.

• Try to explain the figures you refer to and do not put all the information in one paragraph.

• Do not number the answers from the respondents.

• Put the justification used in the previous research  (methodology).

• Starting on the conclusion.

Week 6

• Conclusion: 

• Recap findings of the research.

• In conclusion.

• Recap methods, limitation.

• Project recommendations: suggestion what can be done for the FoP labels (from design students' perspective).

• MIB Page 7 (for the item that should be removed).

Week 7

• Exchange the last paragraph in conclusion (limitations).

• Include an example (visual) for the project recommendations.

• Table of Contents (right page).

• Layout better in ide 2, especially slide 16.

• combine idea one (utilizing minimalist decoration with idea 2 in terms of layout).

• Color and font selection: idea 1.

• Adjust the title, do not leave one word on the last line.

• Make the shelves graphic on the cover thinner.

• Maintain the page design.

• for the introduction, the two last paragraphs need to be adjusted and the introduction needs to focus on what FoP label is and why is it important.

• The caption for the picture needs to be related to the research & the typeface should be Merriweather Sans.

• The appendix needs to be adjusted.

• As for the discussion part of the online survey need to add quotes from the participants to support the statement

REFLECTION

Throughout this semester I learned a lot of things.  To be honest, this module is my weakness compared to another module.  Because other than reading I am pretty bad at making sentences (which is very important because this module is all about it).  I used to blame myself for why I am bad at it or why it is hard for me to understand how things work for this module.  But as time passed and I entered the end of the semester I started to gain confident because when I look back, I can see the reflection of me struggling to choose words or trying to understand the literature (which confused me a lot with new terms that I have never heard before) and I think from that difficulties I get better, even though I know that my ‘better’ is not something that is big enough to cover my flaws, but I feel the process.

As I started to get more comfortable and trust myself more, things got easier.  I used to be so afraid of making mistakes and sometimes during the feedback session I could be so dense.  But I am glad that I’ve through that, maybe I was just scared because there’s a lot of things happening lately and I received so much pressure from myself (I can’t imagine that it came from myself).  But it is good that while learning to design a research dissertation, I can get rid of bad things and focus on doing the work, I also see that reading back my drafts gave me chill and the complicated literature is getting more understandable for me.  This became a phase where I learned so much, I’ve learned new vocabulary, got more insights, and most importantly things I can feel my process in this.

I had fun as well in turning my dissertation into a digital book, I also enjoyed looking at my friends’ work when all of us were done.  It makes everything look more interesting.  Overall, I am glad that I get the chance to learn this module and got support from everyone I love.
